Peptidci

Peptitler (Grekçe: πεπτίδια; “değersiz sindirilebilirler”) tanımlanmış bir düzende, α-amino asitlerin birbirine bandajlanmasıyla oluşan endamsız polimerlerdir.[1] Bir amino asit lafıntısı ile başkası arasındaki bağ bir “amit bağ” veya peptit bağı olarak bilinir.[1]

Tetrapeptit (Oligopeptit)
Proteinler polipeptit molekülleridir (veya çok adetda polipeptit alt birimi barındırır). Ana nüans peptitlerin endamsız, polipeptitlerin/proteinlerin ise uzun olmasıdır.[1]

Protein sentezi sırasında her amino asit, diğer amino asite kalıcı, kırılmayan bir polimer olan polipeptid zincirleriyle bandajlanır. Polipeptid konstrüksiyonsına sertlan amino asitlerin her biri konstrüksiyonya peptid bandajlarıyla bandajlanır. Peptid bağının oluşumu sırasında amino asitlerden birinin amino grubu ile diğerinin karboksil grubu, aradan bir kez çıkması sonucu birleşirler.[1]

Ortalama bir polipeptit zinciri 450 amino asitten oluşur.[1] Malum en uzun polipeptit, takribî 27,000 amino asitten oluşan, kas dokusunda bulunan “titin”dir. Polipeptid zincirine sertlan amino asitlere lafıntı (residue) adı verilir.[1] Zincirin bir ucundaki lafıntı, bağ yapmamış, erkin amino grubu barındırır ve N ucu olarak adlandırılır. Aynı şekilde zincirin diğer ucundaki erkin α-karboksil grubu olan lafıntıevet C ucu adı verilir.
